Commission Process

Here's what you can expect when ordering from us!

  1. Submit Request - 

    Send your commission requests by form HERE.
    My assistant (Lana) will discuss your commission's details and ensure your references are in order.
    She will generate a price estimate once you provide enough information for us to understand the complexity your request! 
    You will be placed on the Waitlist if an agreement is reached. You may have to wait some time before RaeynShine (Lexi) reaches your request, but we will estimate the wait time as best we can.
     

  2. Payment - 

    Lana will email you when you’re next in line so you can be ready with PayPal payment. You will receive a PayPal invoice, so please do not send payment until we ask for it! If we don't hear from you within 48 hours we’ll move onto the next client. 
     

  3. Sketches - 

    At this point, I (RaeynShine / Lexi) take over! I'll begin your sketches after payment is received and send them to you for approval within 3 work days (Mon-Fri). I will re-work your sketches 2 times before I even consider charging for edits.
     

  4. Progress -

    After sketches have been approved I’ll begin work on the final pieces. I will send in-progress photos of your commission for editing, so please check your email often. You might receive daily updates, or an update every few days, but I'll always contact you within a week while we have an active commission.
     

  5. Edits -

    Editing is free if prompted by me, and you can expect a check-in when the linework and flat colors have been completed on a piece. Once the drawing nears completion it becomes harder to edit, so any major alterations after that point may result in an extra charge.
     

  6. Complete - 

    Once your commission is complete I will send the RGB files to your email, along with any collection pages I may have made if you purchased a large order. Then hopefully you will enjoy your custom art for years to come! ❤ヾ(๑❛ ▿ ◠๑ )
    If you would like print-quality artworks, please alert either Lexi or Lana that you would like to purchase commercial rights. (See Terms of Service below.)
     

  7. Streaming -
    Completed commissions are often streamed to my Twitch channel, twitch.tv/raeynshine ☔ You can come watch the process from start to finish! I will tag you on Twitter when the stream goes live. If you wish to be alerted elsewhere when I stream your commission, or if you DO NOT want me to stream your work, please let me know!

Terms of Service

By commissioning RaeynShine you agree to these terms:
 

  • Your commission is for your personal, non-profit use only. Do not sell the artwork, print it on merchandise, or distribute it unless you purchase commercial rights. I do make exceptions if you plan to only print a small batch, so feel free to ask! Generally, commercial rights can be purchased for an additional 50% your artwork's creation cost, and I won't ask for a cut of your profits (unless the artwork is going to be mass-distributed or resold, then we'll have to discuss royalties.) I will create a print-ready, high resolution file of your artwork once you purchase commercial rights. This ensures the best quality in your prints! Without it, the artwork could have fuzzy outlines or inaccurate colors when printed.
     

  • Please do not make alterations to, re-create, or copy my art; or allow others to use my work without first asking for permission. This includes practices like turning my art into animations for animated emotes. If there is anything you wish was different about your commission, please tell me! I want you to love the result. Just be aware my art will always be in my style, so know your artist! 
    If you're unsure and need to use / alter my work in some way just ask! I do make exceptions. =)
     

  • I reserve the right to stream your completed commissions and post them to my social media. If you need me to keep a project secret for a time, let me know! Any commission that I am completely unable to showcase may result in an extra 35% fee. This includes NSFW art as it's against Twitch ToS. Finally, I may use your graphics to advertise my commission services. I try to credit you whenever possible when posting your commissions online, and hope you’ll credit me as the artist too! (๑ᴖ◡ᴖ๑) ｼ
      

  • If you wish to cancel your order you may request a refund and I will send you the artwork at its present stage. Your monetary refund depends on how much work I’ve put into your commission, however. Here’s the breakdown! 
    No Work: 95% Refund (paypal takes some fees)
    Sketches: 65% Refund
    Linework: 40% Refund
    Base Color: 30% Refund
    Minor Lighting: 15% Refund (shading +  highlights)
    Complex Lighting: 0 % Refund (piece practically finished)
     

  • I reserve the right to terminate a commission with the appropriate refund if I don't hear back from a client after 2 weeks, or if I feel the client is being rude or unreasonable. I expect there to be a mutual respect between us and work very hard to ensure commissioning me is a great experience! ꒰*･ω･人･ω･*꒱
